How to measure ring size at home

If you have a ring that fits the right finger, the simplest method is to measure it. If not, you can measure the finger itself. Here’s how:

Method 1: Measuring an existing ring

  • Take a ruler with centimeters (mm)
  • Place the ring on a ruler and measure the inner diameter (edge to edge)
  • Compare to the table below to find the size

Method 2: Measuring the finger

  • Cut a paper strip 10 cm long and about half a cm wide
  • Wrap it around the finger you want to wear the ring on, not too tight
  • Mark the meeting point with a pen
  • Measure the length from the start to the mark in mm, this is the finger’s circumference
  • Divide the number by 3.14 (pi) to get the inner diameter

How to measure bracelet size

Measuring a bracelet is simpler than measuring a ring, but it requires precision, a bracelet that’s too tight is uncomfortable, and one that’s too loose may slip off the hand.

  • Take a flexible measuring tape (the kind seamstresses use)
  • Wrap it around your wrist, exactly where you’d like to wear the bracelet
  • Note your wrist circumference in cm
  • Add 1–2 cmso the bracelet sits comfortably (less = snug; more = loose)
  • Compare to the table below
Tip: the right bracelet size lets the bracelet slide slightly toward the fingers, but not slip off over the hand when you raise it. If you’re unsure, always go with the larger one.

Tips for getting an accurate size

Measure in the evening. Fingers and hands are slightly more swollen in the evening than in the morning. An evening measurement gives a more realistic size for most hours of the day.

Don’t measure when cold. In the cold, fingers contract, and the size you measure will be too small. Wait until your hands return to normal temperature.

Measure 2–3 times. Accuracy in measurement is very important. If you got a different result, go with the largest of the three.

Pay attention to weight changes. Body weight changes, and with it finger size. If you’re in a period of change, wait for it to stabilize or ask to keep room for future adjustment.

Consult. If you’re not sure, visit us at the factory store, we’ll measure precisely with professional tools, at no cost.
